Overview
We are looking for a proactive go-getter to join the Blackhawk tax team. - This position would ideally be located in the Pleasanton office of BHN. However, we would be open for this position to be a work from home position for the right candidate. - This Tax Manager will be a member of the internal Tax group and key tax leadership of BHN (which management is in the Pleasanton, CA headquarters office).

Responsibilities

• 
  
• Assist with the review and coordination of the ASC 740 tax provision and tax accounting processes.
  
• Review federal, state & local, and non-US tax returns and estimates prepared by 3rd party service providers.
  
• Proactively monitor and analyze federal, state and local tax legislation that may impact our operations, including assisting with modeling impacts of proposed tax legislation.
  
• Assist with tax audits and assessments.
  
• Prepare and review tax account reconciliations and proofs, including tax basis balance sheet, income tax payable and return to provision analyses.
  
• Manage research tax credit calculations and documentation projects working with 3rd party tax advisors.
  
• Perform tax research and analysis on issues impacting the company, including issues related to mergers and acquisitions.
  
  Qualifications
  
  • 
    
  • 5+ years of combined corporate tax and/or public accounting experience.
    
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax or related business field; Masters in Tax/Accounting or CPA is preferred.
    
  • Significant experience and understanding of ASC 740.
    
  • Strong understanding of US corporate income tax compliance calculations and rules impacting multinational corporate groups.
    
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    
  • Exhibits an eagerness to continuously learn, collaborate and team with peers, and identify and implement process improvements.
    
  • Able to engage and collaborate with other teams across Finance and beyond.
    
  • Experience working with tax tools and resources including tax provision and compliance software such as OneSource or other similar platforms; strong Excel skills; experience with Alteryx is a plus.
    
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; ability to research complex tax issues and effectively communicate findings in writing to management and internal stakeholders.
    
  • Ability to issue spot and proactively develop tax solutions in a fast-paced FinTech environment with evolving business models and systems.
    
    Benefits
    Salary Range for all U.S. Residents (excluding Alaska, California, North Dakota, South Dakota): $119,350.00 to $155,000.00
    Salary Range for California Residents Only: $149,770.00 to $170,000.00
