Bio-Rad is looking for an enthusiastic Product Support Engineer II to manage and influence its commercial products. This role is part of an innovative engineering team developing complex solutions for Next Generation ddPCR and single-cell instruments. You'll report to Mechanical Engineering and be part of a larger multi-disciplinary R&D team. This supporting role will allow you to learn new things and grow while interfacing with design engineers, software engineers, chemists, and molecular biologists. The Product Support Engineer II has diverse exposure in the development and release of instrumentation. Deliverables vary in complexity to convert small-scale processes into manufacturable and scalable commercial products. Secondarily, supporting commercial teams with complex issues remotely and at customer sites. Join us and be a key player in our next innovative instrument.The DBG Engineering team is an essential part of the Digital Biology Group, collaborating across Bio-Rad's R&D organization to quickly and cost-effectively build healthcare instruments and electro optical systems that meet our customers' needs. Experts in all aspects of engineering, we focus on three areas: Mechanical, carefully and precisely executing design; Electrical, developing instrument controls and printed circuit boards; and System, developing products from architecture through integration, testing, and validation. Together, we work at the forefront of healthcare, creating innovative tools that solve huge challenges and save lives.How You'll Make An Impact:

  • Early involvement to understand product architecture and recommendations to NPD.
  • Key support lead to manufacturing design transfer * Approves/ Redlines Assembly procedures and IPP procedures
  • Creates Support Troubleshooting documents
  • Creates FRU (R&R) model for Service
  • Tests Instrument Qualification and Calibration Software
  • Analyze Log files
  • Product Risks and trending on assigned products
  • Defines Maintenance/ Calibrations/ Tools needed during instrument life cycle
  • Creates trainer content for the commercial product launch.
  • Communicate any product quality issues through proper channels.
  • Tier 3 escalation support and SME to resolve complex issues in the field.
  • Team lead for assigned products
    What You Bring:Minimum Education/ Experience Requirements:

    • BS in engineering/science and/or demonstrated life science experience.
    • 5+ years of experience supporting optical systems, electro-mechanical assemblies, and fluidic systems.
    • Demonstrated customer support abilities, analytical skills, and problem-solving.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively work on and manage many priorities at one time.
    • Proven to be highly organized and self-motivated.
    • Can demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills.
      Additional skills and attributes:

      • Must live within 90 miles of an international airport.
      • Must have a clean & valid US driver's license.
      • Candidate must be fluent in both spoken and written English.
      • Basic understanding of cell biology and scientific applications is a significant advantage.
      • Good interpersonal skills and strong team-building skills.
        This position is eligible for a $5,000 HIRING BONUS: Offered for a limited time only. Applicable to specific positions as labeled. Recipients must be employed at the time of payout. Payout after 30 days of employment with Bio-Rad. Offered to direct hires only. Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $89,300 to $122,800 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors.
