Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Subject Matter Expert Quality
Engineer- Subject Matter Expert to join the Core Engineering Group
located in Pleasanton, CA.Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS)
Quality Engineering is seeking a Subject Matter Expert Quality
Engineer to support Boeing Secure Computing Solutions in
Pleasanton, CA with a consistent track record of leading change,
challenging the status quo, and someone who is passionate about
problem solving. In this role, you will be responsible for the
site's Quality Management System (QMS) and perform all quality
functions from program planning, through engineering development
and transition to production, to customer delivery. The selected
candidate will -be part of a -dynamic team leading process
improvement initiatives through Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
plans, interfacing with suppliers, and driving improvements
throughout the organization. This position is a customer facing
position that will require a candidate who is well organized,
process-oriented, and highly motivated to deliver results.Position
Responsibilities:
- Manages the site QMS to AS9100/ISO 9001 requirements. Perform
internal audits, maintain process documents and conduct management
reviews. Lead the annual external audits and drive to closure any
nonconformances.
- Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of
corrective actions. Develops and implements corrective
actions.
- Leads and mentors Quality Engineers to help guide tactical
approach and technical skill development.
- Participates in the Enterprise Standard Gated Process (ESGP) to
identify and mitigate risks and ensure Quality processes, tools and
resources are able to support successful program development and
execution.
- Applies Early Quality Involvement (EQI) tools and
processes.
- Authors and maintains Quality plans for proposals and programs
for the site.
- Advises suppliers and business partners in the development of
Quality plans to ensure flow down of requirements. Oversees the
execution of processes and monitors metrics to ensure quality
requirements are met.
- Provides consultation to develop Quality criteria for supplier
selection
- Represents Quality in Design/System Requirements Reviews and
Production/Manufacturing Readiness Reviews.
- Represents Quality on development program leadership teams and
participates in their program execution meetings (PMM, CCB, RIO,
etc.).
- Leads cross-functional continuous Quality improvement efforts.
Identifies opportunities to apply advanced statistical methods,
including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
- Plans and executes production and quality focused customer
meetings including development of the agenda, conference minutes
and action items for submittal as contract deliverables
(CDRLs).
- Coordinates planning and execution of Production Process
Verifications, including First Article Inspection. Performs
inspection of incoming material and outgoing manufactured
products.
- Works under consultative direction.This position is expected to
be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work
onsite at the listed location.This position requires the ability to
obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government
requires U.S. Citizenship. - An interim and/or final U.S. Secret
Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required
Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited course of study,
in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or
chemistry, or other technical degree
- 10+ years of experience developing root cause corrective
actions
- 10+ years of experience working with quality systems (e.g.,
Boeing Quality Management System (BQMS), International Organization
for Standardization (ISO9001), Aerospace Standard (AS9100))
- 5+ years of experience in Electronics & ManufacturingPreferred
Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- ASQ CQA, CQE or other professional certifications
- Experience in project management or leading teams
- Experience in developing and maintaining relationships and
partnerships with executives, customers, stakeholders, peers, and
business partnersTypical Education &
Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced
technical education from an accredited course of study in
engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
(e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work
experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and
experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12
years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is
the preferred, although not required, accreditation
standard.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable
