Job Description The Enterprise Data Services organization in Business Technology is actively looking for a seasoned, highly technical and mission-driven Director of Data Science to help us scale Data Science and Advanced Analytics to the next level. As the head of our Data Science team, you will manage a team of Data Scientists and Analysts and have significant influence in leading numerous Advanced Analytics initiatives leveraging data as a cross functional strategic asset. You will understand the unique needs of each area and build a collaborative, world class data organization that will equip stakeholders with a better understanding of their data, including trends and insights to help grow the business. This leadership position will Lead the development, application and interpretation of advanced analytic methodologies and processes designed to drive revenue growth, customer retention and operational efficiencies. This includes segmentation, propensity modeling, customer health, adoption and related statistical methods, experimental techniques, etc. Define and execute Data Science strategy and Roadmap to achieve business objectives, including the processes, KPI's, frameworks, governance, tools and technologies required to scale Build, manage and mentor a team of talented data scientists to elevate data science driven outcomes in the organization. In addition, adopt new approaches and techniques to increase the awareness of data science within the organization Efficiently extract patterns and insights from rich transactions and operations data to help optimize go-to-market strategy, design and build predictive models to inform business strategy for Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, Services and Finance teams and have expert knowledge of various modeling applications and when to apply what algorithm for each unique business problem Communicate effectively to all levels of the organization, including executives Partner closely with Data Engineering and Data Governance teams to ensure delivery of clean, high quality data pipelines at scale Develop deep partnerships with engineering and product teams to deliver on major cross-functional metrics and modeling efforts Demonstrate ability to extract relevant business insights from varied data sets - both structured and unstructured Required Skills/Experience 10+ years of Data Science experience with an advanced degree in a quantitative field - computer science, engineering, statistics, operations research 5+ years of experience managing Data Scientists Strong machine learning and/or statistical modeling expertise, covering areas such as supervised/unsupervised learning, ensembles, neural networks, and NLP Experience in deploying machine learning algorithms and advanced modeling solutions on advanced Data Science and ML Infrastructures Experience on AWS stack(Redshift, Sagemaker), scripting languages (Python and R) and BI platforms (Tableau) Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience interfacing with high level stakeholders Track record of recruiting talent in analytics and data science Experience in Technology companies/industry preferred Track record of delivering data-driven products and insights, and influencing product and engineering decisions *LI-ST1 Posted 5 Days Ago Full Time JR-46749 About Us About Workday At Workday, our employees have always been our number one Core Value.
