About the TeamThe position is within the Performance, Resiliency, and Scalability group and is ideally suited to candidates from a performance engineering or development background with a keen focus on customer success. Our team has a wide remit, from debugging and recreating specific customer issues, to using the latest Big Data techniques in order to extract measurable data and model future capacity and scalability needs. Our team of highly skilled engineers debug, measure, analyze, and improve our software. We are generalists with deep technical understanding of software, hardware, networking, observability and the Internet. We enjoy taking a holistic view of sophisticated systems. We are developers, analysts, engineers, testers, product managers and data scientists.About the Role As a member of the Resiliency X-Team (RX) you will have the opportunity to drive key resiliency enhancements across Workday. Our mission is simple: "Analyze, bring together, make it happen". You will analyze candidate projects for impact so we can focus on the most impactful ones. You will bring teams from architects to product managers to engineers together to determine solutions across teams. And finally you will make the project implementation happen across teams to reap the full resiliency rewards. Does the challenge of ensuring an innovative SaaS architecture is highly performant, resilient and scalable for the critical business needs of large multinational companies appeal to you? Do you enjoy working with top technical architects, product managers and developers to tackle hard problems? In this role, you would:

  • Collaborate with Workday's development, performance, operations, services, support and sales teams to identify and quantify resiliency challenges. You will constantly build out your network across Workday to advocate for resiliency and to stay close to teams' resiliency needs. -
  • Lead solution finding across teams. You will leave the solution details to service owners, but you won't be shy about asking questions along the way and making sure the right people are at the table. -
  • Ensure solutions get implemented. You will provide just enough structure and follow up so that all project steps and dependencies get implemented. You are patient when teams need to balance long-term improvements with short-term fires. You are persistent and convincing to lock long-term work into roadmaps. You are detail oriented to deliver all the pieces. -
  • Influence the application of Data Science and Intelligence into our solutions to improve automation and customer experience
  • Participate in customer-facing situations and user conferences as a resiliency specialist About YouBasic Qualifications
    • 4+ years of product management, or relevant development / data science experience
    • 4+ years of SaaS software and complex distributed system experience
    • Experience with service & micro-service architectures and observability technologies
    • Experienced with scrum and other agile development methods
    • Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
      Other Qualifications
      • Experience with performant and resilient processing at massive scale with data analysis technologies
      • Solid understanding of operations of complex systems in private, public and hybrid data centers
      • Experience in building highly scalable, dynamically deployed, reliable systems
      • Experience with in-memory object graph systems
      • Experience with making Data Driven decisions
      • Ability to clearly articulate product requirements and prioritize enhancement requests
      • Ability to successfully influence external teams
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Experience building cross-team relationships with effective outcomes
