community can thrive. Hively supports local families through child
care stipends and referrals, parent education and family classes,
mental health services and daily essentials (diapers, clothing,
etc). This past year, we served over 2,000 local families and
children seeking child care referrals and served 975 child care
providers. We are fueled by our passion for strengthening thousands
of families, regardless of ability to pay. While the pandemic
threatened the very existence of many child care businesses, we
were ready to answer this challenge by offering extra support to
child care providers and local families, from masks and gloves to
additional subsidies. California Assembly person Rebecca
Bauer-Kahan recognized our outstanding work during the pandemic and
awarded Hively with a California Nonprofit of the Year Award. Our

Chief Financial Officer will play a key role on the senior
leadership team and lead all aspects of finance strategy,
operations, and team management during a time of significant
financial and programmatic growth as we rapidly scale Hively.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with
the Board of Directors, the CFO will serve as a trusted advisor to
the CEO and a key partner to all staff.This position requires an
ambitious, creative financial leader who brings not only the
ability to leverage technology to improve all financial systems and
processes but also the emotional intelligence and communication
skills to ensure our team scales our work serving more Alameda
County families. The new CFO will bring out the best in our growing
finance team, including hiring and coaching new hires. We aim to

building the capacity of staff and to achieve ambitious growth

Work. What you'll be doing:
- Strategic Planning and Organizational Leadership 25%
- Co-lead development of Hively's strategic plans, goals, and
budget. Execute implementation of the plan, goals, and
objectives
- Serve as strategic partner with the CEO, providing advice on
financial operations, analysis, budgeting, managing debt, and
investments. Develop and implement short- and long-range goals,
objectives, policies, and procedures
- Finance Operations 60%
- Manage annual budget process and detailed monthly analysis of
budget to actual performance
- Optimize processes for greater efficiency
- Develop and implement metrics and financial tools needed to
achieve goals. Serve as executive interface regarding independent
audits of Hively's financial operations
- Serve as executive liaison to the Finance Committee and Audit
Committee
- Manage monthly financial reporting process, including detailed
reports to government funders
- Team Management 15%
- Manage, mentor, and develop staff, providing positive
leadership and problem solving
- Foster a culture of results, collaboration, and accountability
while inspiring staffWhat you should bring:
- Passion for Hively's mission and vision
- Commitment to playing a key role in strengthening a culture
where people can do their best work
- 10+ years of experience, including 5+ years of senior
leadership experience in finance, including forecasting, fiscal
management, analysis, accounting management, and budgets of a
minimum of $3M, including providing leadership and coaching to at
least two direct reports
- Evidence of vision and collaboration in developing strategy,
policies, and practices
- Success developing new revenue streams and brainstorming how to
fund new programs
- Experience making compelling, persuasive presentations to
decision-makers
- Enthusiasm for analyzing financial technology needs, selecting
appropriate systems, and implementing systems across staff
teams
- Proven experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost
control, including GAAP
- Commitment to a DEI-focused culture and learning and
development approach
- Ability to work effectively with diverse teams
- Past experience excelling in an entrepreneurial, high-growth
environment
- Commitment to pursuing financial sustainability
- Successful track record of mentoring and retaining a
high-performing team
- Impeccable judgment, analytical ability, and
decision-making
- Spirit of continuous improvement, innovation, and
problem-solving
- Outstanding communication skills
- Experience with cloud-based software
- Ability to work in an East Bay office at least one day a
week
- CPA a plus
- Nonprofit finance experience preferredSalary begins at
$160,000. This is a highly flexible, hybrid role that we anticipate
