We invite you tolearn moreabout our culture and why our employees are our most loyal customers.YOUYou want to be an important member of a strong team of other makers who take pride in their work and support each other.As a Project Manager for the Engineering Technology team, you will be responsible for the management, integration and maintenance of Engineering data, specification / selector applications, connection visualization and customer facing API tools and associated developer documentation. You will be responsible for managing product matters related to the assigned applications / content / support throughout the product life cycle, from strategic planning to tactical activities, and aligning the strategies for the product with those of the broader organization.You will organize and scope Simpson Strong-Tie opportunities related to the assigned applications using customer feedback, data analytics, industry research and market needs to recommend features, functionality, and specification needs that will continuously improve the customer experience whether they are looking for engineering information on strongtie.com or third-party software applications. In addition, you will coordinate with Branch Engineering, Home Office Engineering, Marketing, E-Business, and IT to prepare an annual business plan that is based on the needs, strategies and tactics that each team has developed or is implementing.You will functionally lead a team of individuals based out of the Company's Vietnam office to help develop and maintain Engineering content, specification / selector applications, and connection visualization tools.You will be the initial contact point for supporting all aspects of internal and external customer service as related to the engineering technology and applications they manage.If career growth is important to you, we not only know how to help you with that, it's what we love to do:.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time)Manage a complex engineering technology and application portfolio with minimal direction including project planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality and cost. Serve as the single point of contact for assigned products and projects and, following the Solution Delivery framework (SDLC) oversee Engineering applications through all phases from initiation through final deployment and maintenance. (40%)Participate with Customers, Sales, E-Business, Marketing, IT, and Engineering Stakeholders in the Software application ideation process and development of business cases for new Software solutions for identified business needs. Bring relevant implementation experience to bear in estimating costs, risks, benefits development timeline of proposed projects. (25%)Manage the product life cycle including product rationalization, customer support and future requirements based on market demands. Work with inter-disciplinary team to identify and resolve issues as required and investigate features, privacy and potential impacts of a global implementation. (15%)Be the initial contact point for supporting all aspects of internal and external customer service for Engineering Applications. (10%)Work with marketing to develop appropriate marketing material to support the product portfolio throughout the product life cycle (5%)Lead product training for internal Simpson and customers as well as assist in training activities at branches and customers as needed (5%)DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEIf you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes.   • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field preferred
  • 4 years project management experience as a key player or lead in deploying technology or products within the building product industry or related field.
  • 4 years experience in application development, support, or as a Business Analyst - requirements gathering and documentation, writing functional and/or technical specifications, conducting testing, and participating in the SDLC process.
  • Vision: Must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big picture vision, and ability and drive to make that vision a reality.
  • Communication / Team Collaboration: Ability to communicate effectively with all areas of the company, customer base and contractors in order to facilitate discussions in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
  • Project Management/Technical Skills: Understanding of project management processes. Demonstrated success working with business partners to evaluate, recommend, and implement highly-available, secure applications. Demonstrated experience managing projects within a defined SDLC process. Ability to provide solid estimates on work effort and ability to meet strict timelines. Knowledge of current and proposed Global Privacy initiatives. Ability to evaluate Milestone performance and task completion. High level business understanding of cloud architecture to facilitate meaningful communication with technical teams.
  • Leadership: Experience in working on project teams and large/multiple implementations. Experience managing internal business partner and external vendor/contractor relationships. Must exhibit strong communication skills (oral & verbal). Support and maintain positive attitude and vision with peers, associates, team members, management customers and contractors.
  • Language: Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.TravelThis position requires domestic travel up to 5% of the time.Work Status & LocationThis full-time, exempt position is located remotely within the US.
