The PositionProvides expertise, leadership, and strategic direction for design, space planning & workplace experience. Creates an innovative and collaborative campus environment through leadership of site planning, architectural design and facility management. Leads long-range space planning, campus development and implementation of site space plan, and supports strategic development for the sites. Responsible for implementation and delivery of facilities interior, exterior, landscape, and digital infrastructure plans to align with Roche global capital investment guidelines. Ensures the architectural and interior design provides an inspiring workplace environment, delivering efficient and effective spaces with high customer satisfaction levels, and aligns with global architectural guidelines. Ensures that design meets the strategic goals and objectives of the site, remain on budget, complete on schedule, and transition for occupancy. Uses robust change management to ensure positive user experience throughout implementation of siteplan.Manages through contractors, suppliers or programs, the coordination of the activities of a department or org unit. Responsible for workplace experience strategy, results, including costs, methods and consulting requirements. Interacts with others and/or suppliers at various levels involving matters between functional areas, other departments or org units, or customers and the company. Provides strategy and establishes assignments/objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals, delegating assignments when necessary. Involved in developing, modifying and executing policies and/or procedures that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide effect. Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation, relationships with suppliers or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors. Maintains physical and digital assets to support workplace experience initiatives and communications. Responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions.KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:--- Designs, plans, analyzes, and executes interior and exterior workspace optimization for new construction and remodeling of existing facilities infrastructure.--- Responsible for development of the workplace experience, space planning, policy, and governing procedures. Actively collaborates with the business areas to implement the workplace strategy across the campus. Develops and implements workplace policies, change management guidelines, architectural interior and exterior design standards.--- Assists in development and implementation of the site master plan. Ensure all projects adhere to or follow the site master plan.--- Serves as the subject matter expert and liaison between business units on workplace experience design requirements and change management guidelines. Works directly with business unit representatives in developing the site plan and space design requirements. Provides consultation and support to other affiliates.--- Assembles and maintains project activity documentation and schedules.--- Responsible for collaboration and execution of change management strategies, guidelines, and procedures.--- Assists in negotiation of project contracts and coordinates the activities of consultants to implement the workplace experience space design and strategy.--- Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day work efforts of service providers. Provide training to team members on standard operating procedures and reinforce training.--- Analyze and monitor operations including policies, procedures, structure, and flow of information to ensure efficiency and compliance.--- Develop cross-functional relationships to aid in knowledge and communication flow. Influences cross-divisional strategies on master planning, architectural, interior workspace, lab space and planningprocesses. Collaborates and develops cross-functional relationships with local facilities and global partners.--- Manage outside consultants and vendor relationships including contractnegotiations, furniture design and execution.REQUIRED SKILLS:--- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience--- 5+ years' experience including workplace design, space planning and/or project management--- Proven ability to lead a team of multiple disciplines with a proven track record of managing consultants, contractors, and third party organizations--- Ability to manage project deliverables and initiatives with budgets up to 5 million dollars--- Demonstrated excellence in stakeholder management and communications--- Proven track record initiating and leading workplace experience and change management initiativesPREFERRED SKILLS:--- Degree in a related technical field (e.g. architecture, interior design, engineering, project management)--- Experience in architecture or engineering--- 3 years progressive direct or indirect leadership experience in a related field--- Drawing database management--- Laboratory workplace optimizationRelocation benefits for this position are not available.The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $105,700-$196,300. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
