In this role, you'll spend your time maturing the product management process, leading a group of product directors, crafting the multiyear vision and roadmap as well as meeting with both customers and our field teams while collaborating across the business with stakeholders and executives to design the future of how Building Technology leverages technology. Successful candidates are industry experts who can easily jump between Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing.This position will report to our VP Building Technology Digital Development and can work remotely from a US location or in one of our physical locations in Texas, California, Colorado, or Indiana. We're looking for someone to join our team immediately.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time)Reporting to the VP of Building Technology, this role will be responsible for the strategic vision, design, and execution across all digital products in the BT portfolio.(20%)Lead a group of Product Directors across multiple divisions to develop and execute the company strategy that drives growth for our Building Technology business.(15%)Develop Product Management best practices for the organization including but not limited to product strategy development, qualitative and quantitively research, business case development, requirements gathering, multi-year roadmap development, and stakeholder management.(15%)Work with Focus Market Groups, M&A teams, and the Business Strategy team to create and execute a build/buy/partner strategy for the market.(10%)Implement process and structure as needed to ensure stakeholder involvement and engagement.(10%)Navigating the complexity of a matrixed organization with an informed point of view with internal teams, cross product area partners, and externally facing.(10%)Work closely with construction professionals from the field to the C-suite to identify opportunities that enhance their experience and drive outcomes for Simpson Strong Tie.(10%)Work with Product Marketing to communicate Simpson Strong Tie's vision and strategy to the market and to drive roadmap clarity and evangelism internally and externally.(5%)Lead, motivate and direct the Product Organization in Building Technology using effective performance management techniques. Coach, encourage, and develop employees according to their unique interests and strengths. Empower employees to take responsibility for their career and performance. Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members and the organization.(5%)DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEIf you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes.   • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience building, delivering, or supporting successful technology products
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience leading and managing others
  • Must have demonstrated success with creating and growing a technical product line or business segment, or department.
  • Must have a track record of completing projects on-time and being accountable for commitments made to management. May make significant departures from traditional approaches to develop solutions.
  • Product Management:Well versed in the various skills, techniques and approaches used in software Product Management including problem ideation, product strategy development, roadmap development, stakeholder management and data driven hypothesis testing.
  • Vision: Demonstrated ability to evangelize opportunities and build alignment within a large organization
  • Communication/Team Collaboration: Ability to communicate effectively with all areas of the company and facilitate discussions and debate, mediate conflict, and nurture a collaborative, cross-functional team.Expert-level ability to work with go-to-market teams
  • Financial Planning and Analysis:Expert understanding of business financials and how to develop compelling business cases.
  • Language:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Reasoning:Hypothesis-driven and data-driven product thinking. Ability to leverage strong problem-solving and analytical skills to help evolve, improve, and transform our products and our business.TravelThis position requires domestic and international travel up to 25% of the time.Work Status & LocationThis full-time, exempt position, can work remotely from a US location or in one of our physical locations in Texas, California, Colorado, or IndianaRelocationRelocation may be considered for this position.
