Job Description:
Overview
Under the leadership of the Manager, Project Delivery, a Project
Manager is responsible for planning and managing project objectives
and driving the project plan through capturing project scope,
facilitating solution development, collaborating with departmental
and Senior Executive Leadership, and leading team members using
standard project management methodologies and tools. The Project
Manager may be assigned to cross-functional projects or to projects
where initial requirements are not well understood.
Specialization
- Candidate should have working knowledge of healthcare
information technology (IT) and tools.
- Working knowledge of Healthcare business processes and
procedures are highly desirable. Job Responsibilities
- Manages small project team(s) to meet objectives of projects
that are limited in scope, risk, and / or organization span; or
leads one or more subprojects within a large, complex project.
- Organizes and guides project operations through adherence to
standard project management methodologies.
- Manages project that are complex in scope, risk, and/or
organizational span.
Leadership
- Provides matrixed direction and leadership to all project team
participants.
- Provides training and guidance regarding project management
practices to project participants if needed to support successful
execution of the project.
- Provides performance feedback to the manager of each project
team participants.
- Capable of promoting PM best practices as they learn them.
- Provides feedback and participates in the continuous
improvement of the project management process.
- Champion of organizational learning and drives the group's
ability to improve (e.g. Centre of Excellence participation,
improving best practices, network facilitation, and as instructor,
reviewer and mentor). Job Complexity
- This role involves independent tasks and partly complex tasks
solved predominantly through own decision making.
- Projects that are small in scope, risk, and/or organizational
span, including subprojects of larger, more complex projects.
- Requires guidance from manager.
- Typically leads projects that meet most of, but not limited to,
following characteristics:
- No process change/training to business unit employees
- No interdependencies with other areas.
- Low changes to technology.
- Resource availability is not constraint.
- Resources: No more than 5
- Operational Risk: Low
- Project Budget: No more than $100,000
- This role calls for independent and complex tasks solved solely
through own decision making.
- Projects that are high in complex in scope, risk, and/or
organizational span, including subprojects of larger, more complex
projects.
- Differentiating factors: project duration, number of
deliverables, organizational stability, and compliance risk.
- Requires no guidance from manager.
- Typically leads projects that meet most of, but not limited to,
following characteristics:
- Complex process change/training to business
- Interdependencies with other areas
- Complex changes involving 3 or more systems
- Resource availability is a constraint
- Resources: > 10
- Operational Risk: High
- Project Budget: > $500,000 Required Experience and
Professional Skills
- Project management foundational knowledge and be working
towards PMP certification.
- Minimum 1-3 years of professional experience on multiple
project teams
- Strong analytical, communication, teamwork and interpersonal
skills
- Proven ability to effectively negotiate and facilitate problem
resolution
- Healthcare and technology services experience preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, MS Project, Visio,
SharePoint, MS Teams and standard collaboration and web
conferencing tools.
- Project Management Certification and uses it to mentor others
who are studying for their certifications
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in project leadership, including
management of complex projects
- Excellent proven analytical, communication, teamwork and
interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to effectively negotiate and facilitate complex
problem resolution. .
- Healthcare and technology services experience required.
Required Education and Certifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Health
Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Masters or equivalent combination of education, training and
work experience.

- PM Foundational Knowledge
- PMP -
Additional Information
Salary: $120,000 - $150,000
