Francisco.OverviewThe General Manager is responsible for hotel
profitability through revenue growth, cost management, guest
satisfaction, and employee development, while maintaining the
integrity of The Huntington Hotel.Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of all departments, making adjustments
as needed through department heads.
- Conduct weekly staff meetings, including training sessions, and
review sales and operations efforts.
- Meet all financial review deadlines and corporate
programs.
- Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and
supervisors.
- Ensure departmental productivity and adherence to checkbook
accounting standards.
- Develop managerial talent through training and corporate
programs.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales on prospecting and
account management efforts.
- Participate in hotel sales activities, including client visits,
hosting events, and meetings.
- Cover MOD shifts as scheduled.
- Monitor management trainees' development and ensure policy
compliance.
- Assist in budget processes and ensure service standards
training across departments.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented environment focused on guest
service.
- Regularly inspect rooms and property maintenance.
- Oversee invoice processing and financial documentation.
- Maintain physical property standards and preventive
maintenance.
- Ensure staff interactions are friendly, courteous, and
efficient.
- Forecast financial performance and analyze data for
reforecasting.
- Conduct management interviews and ensure hiring procedures are
followed.
- Perform performance appraisals and coaching for management
staff.
- Motivate, counsel, and discipline management personnel.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
- Engage with clients and guests to support sales and service
excellence.
- Ensure security procedures and monthly audits are
followed.
- Conduct monthly credit meetings and oversee collection
policies.
- Complete corporate training modules and become certified to
train others.
- Attend scheduled meetings on property.Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of progressive hotel or related experience; or
a 4-year degree with 4-5 years of experience; or a 2-year degree
with 5-6 years of experience.
- Experience in luxury hotels required.
- Warm, friendly demeanor and excellent communication
skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and handle problems
effectively.
- Participation in MOD coverage, regular attendance, and
professional appearance required.
- Adherence to safety, confidentiality, and operational
standards.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
