The Assessment & Consulting Services business is currently seeking Health, Safety and Environmental professionals in support of a client in Sunnyvale, CA. This is an exciting opportunity to join CBRE on site at a client account and contribute to the success of their EHS program? CBRE Assessment & Consulting Services (ACS) uses advanced technical knowledge and expertise to evaluate commercial real estate assets, identifying potential concerns to mitigate risk and discovering opportunities that deliver measurable advantage for our clients. JOB SUMMARY The purpose of this position is to implement, execute, and manage HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) programs relative to a large national/international corporate account or market area. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Monitors HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) regulatory compliance within the account, market area, or assigned area of responsibility. Communicates all findings, concerns, and deficiencies to the responsible functional managers to effect timely and necessary corrections. Assist in the development and implementation of strategic solutions that will support management's efforts to improve and maintain compliance as required. Participates in research, development, analysis, maintenance, implementation, execution, and management of all plans, policies, procedures, playbooks, initiatives, information sheets, brochures, checklists, and training related to HSE programs. Monitors injury, illness, and incident related performance within the account, market area, or other assigned area of responsibility. Monitors performance for trends or other indicators of improving or degrading incident performance and develops and implements strategic solutions that will improve the performance results as required. Executes service tasks related to equipment permits, risk assessments, job hazard analysis, indoor air quality assessments, hearing conservation assessments, management of change evaluations, chemical use/storage reviews, chemical inventories, pre- and post-regulatory inspections, training, standard operating procedure development, and federal/state regulatory research. Develops and implements standardized metrics to measure the effectiveness of HSE programs; including both lagging and leading indicators. Provides recommendations for program refinement to increase enrichment, understanding, and maturity based on a review of standardized metrics. Metrics will be tracked and reported to account employees on a monthly basis. Acts as a resource to team and account employees as an HSE subject matter expert and establishes cross-functional partnerships with account departments and stakeholders to facilitate understanding and maturity of programs. Promotes safety consciousness among team, partners, stakeholders, and account employees by providing accurate and informative data, conducting training, participating in program awareness opportunities, giving timely feedback on program questions, and visibly supporting the overall HSE program(s). Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values. \n\nQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in HSE from four-year college or university or other physical science such Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Geology or similar. Minimum of 5 years of related experience. Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety, and environmental regulations is essential. Direct experience dealing with regulatory agencies and / or compliance officers is preferred. Experience working in manufacturing, construction, and / or facility maintenance and management is preferred. CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES As required by local authority (if required). Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) - Preferred COMMUNICATION SKILLS Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues. FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis. REASONING ABILITY Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
