Job Description Job Description Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical administration, including understanding both generic and brand names, and managing pharmacy inventory. You will be responsible for navigating formulary approved product lists and ensuring efficient ordering and receiving processes. Familiarity with pharmacy laws, regulations, and controlled substance documentation requirements is essential. Responsibilities Administer pharmaceuticals, understanding both generic and brand names. Manage pharmacy inventory, including maintaining par levels, rotating stock, and handling recalls, returns, and reverse distribution. Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations. Document and manage controlled substances in accordance with legal requirements. Handle high-alert medications and look alike/sound alike drugs with care. Provide exceptional customer service in a healthcare setting. Utilize medication dispensing systems, including Pyxis, for inpatient and acute care environments. Essential Skills Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (Cpht). Experience in inpatient or acute care settings. Proficiency with medication dispensing systems such as Pyxis. Strong understanding of pharmacy law and regulations. Experience with prior authorization processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with BD Logistics is advantageous. Strong customer service skills in healthcare environments. Work Environment This role is based in an acute care hospital with a total of 277 staffed beds. The pharmacy operates with a day shift of 4x10-hour schedules, with variable start times ranging from 5am to 10:30pm. Staff members wear scrubs, with RNs in royal blue or navy blue, and the work environment includes charting through Epic. Parking is conveniently free. The patient demographic spans neonates to geriatrics, providing a diverse and dynamic work setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Santa Rosa, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
