Gastroenterologist Locums Job in California Starting Summer 2026 Job Requirements for Assignment : California State Medical license Board Certified Gastroenterologist 24-hour ED call only General Bread & Butter coverage ERCP and EUS not required Averaging 8-10 consults per shift Seeking 7-14 shifts per month Mid-level support Monday-Friday Coverage includes weekend call GI Department Annual Volume Breakdown: Gastrointestinal Procedures (Outpatient): Approximately 714 procedures per year. Lower GI Procedures (e.g., Colonoscopies): 382 procedures. Upper GI Procedures (e.g., Endoscopies): 332 procedures. Emergency Department (ED) Context: The hospital's ED sees over 60,000-65,000 patients per year, many of whom are referred to specialized GI care for acute issues.
