Job Description:
Lab Summary: Samsung Research America plays a pivotal role in
developing the next generation technology in software, user
experience, and services for future products that can enrich the
consumer’s life. The AI Center (AIC) is dedicated to advancing
research in key AI areas such as deep learning, generative AI,
computer vision, multi-modal machine learning, language AI, and
on-device AI. Our fundamental research results in top tier
conference papers each year and also contributes to Samsung
products. Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced
research leader to drive product-focused research in Computer
Vision technology to contribute critical business needs for Samsung
Electronics. Position Responsibilities: Spearhead research and
development efforts in AI core technology research and development
in order to prepare company’s future and differentiate current
business Collaborate closely with Samsung Research teams, including
product managers, research scientists, and platform engineers, to
align cutting-edge AI research with real-world product applications
Multi-modal tasks, such as visual question answering and visual
dialog, visual captioning, vision-and-language representation
learning, and dialogue-driven image/video search, editing, and/or
summarization Ensure that Centers publish at top conferences and
journals (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, TPAMI, and similar), satisfy patents &
paper goals and organize scientific events (conferences, workshops
and challenges) Required Skills: PhD in Computer science or
equivalent combination of education, training, and experience 11
years’ industry work experience in Computer Vision and AI related
projects Deep understanding of state-of-the-art Computer Vision
theories, techniques, optimization strategies (Generative AI Engine
& Applications, Image Processing/Search/Generation, Image/Video
related solution) Strong communication skills and industry
experience leading innovative projects in research environments
Experience leading projects in CV-related product development,
problem solving and algorithm with deep learning frameworks Strong
publications track record in CV-related fields (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV,
TPAMI, and etc.) (Nice to have) Strong background in programming
(Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow) Our total rewards programs are

range for roles at this level is listed below, but may be higher or
lower in other states due to geographic differentials in the labor
market. Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a
number of factors—including the role’s function and location as
well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education
and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation
package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help
you live life well. Base Pay Range $235,400 - $365,650 USD
