The Finance Organization has an opening for a Head of Data
Governance, reporting to the VP Finance, Customer and Digital. This
position is located in Pleasanton, California.
Albertson's has an exciting new opportunity for a Head of Data
Governance to lead the formation and execution of the company's
enterprise wide Data Governance, framework and policies. You will
be responsible for advancing all Data Governance related activities
at Albertsons, including the roll out of the data quality
management, master data management, metadata management, and
related programs. You will also promote and instill the principle
of managing data as a strategic enterprise asset in support of
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop processes and procedures in support of the Albertsons
Data Governance Program workstreams.
Build a Data Governance Office team, manage direct reports and
build cross functional relationships with partners in IT and
Represent Data Governance in related operational meetings
Publish program operations, content, roadmaps, status, and
Facilitate Data Domains, Data Quality, Master Data, Policy, and
Analytics Competency workgroups.
Provide operational support and user training for the Data
Governance technology and processes
Publish program goals, content, and progress to the Data
Governance community and the enterprise through a variety of
Collaborate with internal and external organizations to mature
Conduct recurring one-on-one meetings with Data Governance
Council members and information owners
Coordinate and facilitate stewardship activities.
Use knowledge and expertise to identify improvements through
reducing data redundancy and appropriate data reuse
A Bachelor's Degree, a Master's Degree preferred
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in analytical roles; retail
experience a plus.
3+ years of Data Governance experience
Strong understanding of data warehouse, MDM and Metadata
Experience managing Data Quality operations that standardize
data definitions, maintenance and quality metrics
Capable of building strong relationships at every level of the

reach different audiences and executing communication strategies
based on that understanding
Able to work effectively in an environment that contains
complex, sometimes contradictory information
Able to think conceptually and analytically with strong problem
solving and decision-making skills

Able to develop various documentation such as functional
requirements, data quality rules, policy definitions
Able to compare technologies and make recommendations to senior
members of the team.
