Reporting to the General Counsel, the Senior Director of Legal Operations is an integral member of the Legal Department. This position is responsible for building and managing the legal operations team for Albertsons. This position will be responsible for aligning the work of the legal operations team to the needs of the business in the most efficient and effective way to support best-in-class operations strategy, execution and support across the enterprise, while leveraging market insight to inform departmental initiatives. The leader of the Legal Operations function will work to develop strong and productive relationships across the enterprise to influence the allocation of resources toward the various needs of the legal function. This role will be based near one of our divisional offices: Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, Pleasanton, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Boise, ID, Phoenix, AZ, Dallas, TX, Denver, CO, Chicago, IL, Philadelphia, PA or Boston, MA. Specific responsibilities include:Stay up to date on industry best practices and lead law department processes to inform Albertsons legal team and influence continuous improvement.Build strong relationships across legal ecosystem to assess current state and make recommendations for improved operations.Support management of outside counsel, and support attorneys in vendor rationalization strategy for enterprise legal.Support continuous improvement projects in the delivery of legal services to meet the needs of the business.Work with Legal Department functional leads to identify and track departmental success metrics. Provide business insight to legal team members to improve alignment with Albertsons's business goals.Provide timely, informative reporting on enterprise-wide legal financial performance against budget, goals, and benchmarks.Serve as primary liaison with the finance department on legal budgeting and forecasting.Provide education and support to lawyers in use of technology tools for matter and law firm management.Partner with General Counsel in budgeting and forecasting process for partnership with the Technology department, ensure effective implementation and ongoing operation of legal technology systems. Qualifications & Skills:J.D. or M.B.AAt least seven years of legal experience obtained at a law firm, in-house, or a combination of both.Proven business acumen and demonstrated management, organizational and staff administration experience.Seven years of relevant experience with at least three to five years of experience in a management and leadership roleThree to five years of process and people management experience strongly desiredProven business and financial acumen and demonstrated management, organizational and staff administration experience.Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills required.Ability to build relationships internally as well as externally.Excellent communication, including strong presentation skills and executive presence.Demonstrated ability to work within a highly collaborative business environment.
