The Customer and Digital Organization is responsible for transforming the grocery experience by harnessing the power of digital technologies. We seek to offer customers an easy, exciting, and friendly ecommerce shopping experience through the invention of personalized and localized digital experiences for our 34 million plus weekly customers.

The Shopping Experience Department has an opening for a Director Catalog Experience. This position is located in Pleasanton, California.

Position Purpose

The Director Catalog Experience will be responsible for developing and leading the strategy to build the next generation Catalog Management Systems which will support the company's scale and vision around the omnichannel strategy. This role will be focused on bringing Albertsons' online grocery catalog to scale with existing in-store selection, as well as expanding to exciting new offerings for customers. This role will be focused on creating a customer-centric experience through a robust marketplace, seamless navigation, and integrated product reviews and information. The right candidate will have a strong product development background, with the proven ability to deliver products that create impact and deliver exceptional experience to the end customer. The candidate will provide leadership and vision to ensure the business' growth, financial strength, and operating excellence.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Define Catalog tenets, multiyear vision roadmap and OKRs. * Identify opportunities to exponentially grow relevant selection for our customers. * Lead by example as a product leader to build a culture of innovation and develop customer-obsessed solutions. * Be responsible for delivering ecommerce experiences that are delightful and frictionless and drive engagement in customer-facing products, while driving efficiencies in internal teams * Expand product selection and rich data within the Albertsons ecosystem including on an integrated marketplace; create locally relevant selection for the customers in each store, including customized, made-to-order items. * Ingest product data and content while improving workflow and content management to deliver high-impact digital assets at every step of the customer journey. * Create platform to collect and showcase customer generated content to drive customer engagement. * Scale through automating all possible processes and controls (e.g., Andon Chord, Publish Tools) * Measure and improve on the selection available, creating omni-channel metrics to delineate availability and customer experience and optimize by diving deep on exceptions; partner with the Data team to define measurable metrics of success. * Implement changes from learnings quickly through an iterative process and establish a culture of testing and learning within your team by continuously developing hypotheses and never taking the status quo as the way things need to be done. * Work with Engineering and UX to establish agile processes, frameworks, and tools to increase velocity, improve quality, and ensure transparency. * Clearly articulate and communicate the vision, roadmap, key decisions, and relevant learnings up and out to all levels and departments.


* Experience building and launching complex products at scale and providing product direction to meet customer needs. * Big picture thinker, but not afraid to roll up your sleeves to tackle immediate challenges. * Embody the Agile philosophy, always iterating and improving on the process and not just adhering to the ceremony. * Highly analytical skills with the ability to translate between strategic business decisions and their quantitative implication. * Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related. MBA preferred. * 6-12 years' experience in product management or technology * Preferably more than 5 years' experience in leading large teams to achieve a common vision in a high-tech company. * Internet and retail experience strongly preferred. * Strong analytical, prioritization and negotiating skills. * Usability and customer-focused design experience a plus * Passionate about building great products and solving customer and business problems.

Physical Environment:
