ABOUT THE JOB:
The Independent Sales Representative develops profitable new
business and grows sales for existing assigned accounts; these are
primarily independent and smaller group customers (i.e., fewer than
Evaluate and understand competitor strengths, weaknesses,
financials, technology, new initiatives, and limitations within
their defined territory.
Sell new business concepts to clients; confirm that new and
existing accounts meet established business criteria.
Achieve or exceed sales, APSW, and gross margin budget; review
accounts receivables on a weekly basis and take appropriate action
to keep customers within terms.
Review item selection versus industry/market/competition/season
and make recommendations on item selection, plan-o-grams, and
promotional planning or distribution guidelines.
This position has additional duties; special projects may be
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
2 years of sales and/or customer service experience.
2 years of McLane-specific experience.
Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Valid driver's license and good driving record.
Able to travel as required.
18 years of age.
