child care providers and local families, from masks and gloves to

learning, listening, and growing together. The OpportunityThis is a
unique full-time opportunity helping children and families, while
also working towards your clinical licensure as a therapist with
the BBS. As a Family Support Counselor, you would see up to 10
clients as an Associate Therapist, as well as work with families
who need help navigating child care, parenting, relationships and
employment. Much of the Family Support Services work can also be
counted towards non-clinical experience hours. In this role,
clinical supervision is available from a Licensed Marriage and
Family Therapist.What you'll be doing:
- Clinical ( AMFT - ACSW - APCC ) - 25%
- Provides direct service psychotherapy to caseload of up to 10
clients
- Maintains up-to-date clinical documentation as required
- Consults with supervisors and staff as needed/required
- Attends supervision on a weekly basis and in a prompt
manner
- Interacts with staff and clients in a professional and ethical
manner
- Participates in supervision and training with an openness to
learning and receiving feedback
- Performs additional job-related duties and responsibilities as
requested
- Family Support Services - 75%
- Interview, enroll, and certify families for CalWORKs and/or
CAPP Child Care Program
- Interview scheduled and drop-in appointments/complete necessary
re-certifications
- Perform new intake orientation presentations as needed
- Conduct group intake appointments as needed
- Respond to and resolve parent and provider issues
- Maintain and update family, child and program files
- Provide quality customer service for internal and external
agency customers
- Input data into the computer system in an accurate and timely
manner
- Respond to requests for information from the public
- Travel to co-locations and satellite Hively offices as
needed
- Attend all training/technical assistance workshops
- Attend all staff meetings
- Other duties as assignedWhat you should bring:
- Master's Degree completed from an accredited college or
university in counseling or psychology
- Knowledge and basic skills in counseling practices and
methods
- Ability to plan, implement, evaluate and report activities
conducted
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and to prepare
written and electronic documents
- Ability to communicate orally, both in person and by
telephone
- Ability to travel to meetings, other campuses and counseling
sites
- Ability to establish rapport with others as a requisite for
healthy and therapeutic relationships
- Ability to be both consistent and flexible as circumstances
warrant
- Ability to remain calm and supportive in psychological
emergencies and/or crises when provided with appropriate
supervision and direction
- Demonstrates self-awareness in order to relate to others
effectively and appropriatelyPreferred Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plusPhysical Requirements
- Ability to sit at a desk for extended amounts of time
- Ability to stand for extended amounts of time
- Manual dexterity to use a telephone and computer
- Facility to hear and understand speech at normal room levels,
and to hear and understand speech on the telephone
- Facility to speak in audible tones so that others may

- Physical agility to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and to bend,
stoop, walk and reach overhead
- Physical agility to push/pull, squat, twist and turn
