About the Role Workday is seeking a finance professional to join the Business Finance team in a role focused on creating forecasting and reporting efficiencies within the Products & Technology organization. We're looking for an organized, detail oriented, self-starter with a desire to learn. This is an individual contributor role with a great chance to join a top-tier SaaS company, while offering a ton of exposure and ability to influence key decisions within the business. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Budgeting and forecasting - Drive efficiency into monthly/quarterly headcount and expense forecasting process by taking ownership over common drivers that span across the entire Products & Technology organization Business performance reporting - Prepare monthly/quarterly financial review presentations (including collecting, formatting, and analyzing information) and assist in presenting the materials to senior leaders. Become the consolidator of reporting information across the entire organization and perform variance analysis and turn it into key business insights Business partnering - Develop trusted relationships with senior Finance leaders, as well as across Workday's Business Finance organization. You will also gain exposure to key leaders within and support functions to the Products & Technology organization Financial, Operational, Ad-hoc analysis - Combine quantitative and qualitative analysis to provide deeper insights to the business as well as highlight business risks and opportunities. Examples include evaluating hiring location strategies, analyzing program/project ROI, building business cases for new product offerings, and more Business processes - Become acquainted with business processes and highlight opportunities for automation and process improvement with cross-functional teams. Identify ways to use Workday's products to streamline and scale our processes and reporting Financial close - Occasionally prepare journal entries related to financial close activities (end-of period accruals, reclass entries) About You Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required Minimum 4 years related FP&A / Operational / Strategic Finance experience Preferred Additional Qualifications: Proficiency in analytical and financial modeling skills (Excel / Google Sheets), with strong attention to detail and accuracy Exposure to accounting principles (revenue, cost of revenue, operating expense) and their application to periodic financial reporting, planning and forecasting. Knowledge of SaaS metrics such as ARR, net dollar retention, etc. Ability to navigate systems for analysis and reporting. Prior exposure to products such as Workday Adaptive Planning and Tableau a plus Exceptional organizational, communication, and collaboration skills - nothing falls through the cracks, you over-communicate, and excel working as part of a team Willingness and ability to adapt to the rapid business and organizational changes that accompany a high-growth environment Positive, self-starter attitude with an eagerness learn and improve #LI-NF3 As a federal contractor, Workday is requiring all new hires to verify that they are fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 within 72 hours of beginning employment with Workday, consistent with applicable law.
